2019 Ford F-350
Critics praise the big numbers Super Duty trucks put up, especially in payload and towing capacity, horsepower and torque. In that spirit, we'll show you the ins and outs of the 2019 Ford F-350 numerically. These numbers are going to come at you fast and furious. Don't blink or you'll miss them. One, two, three, go!
Horsepower and Torque
The 2019 Ford F-350 has some awesome engines, delivering tsunamis of torque and hurricanes of horsepower. The base 6.2-liter V8 engine delivers 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. The mightier turbocharged 6.7-liter diesel V8 engine tops that with 450 horsepower and a record-shattering 935 lb-ft of torque.
Payload and Towing
What do you get when you deliver plenty of torque? Plenty of hauling power. That's why the 2019 F-350 is a class leader in both payload capacity and its towing is pretty dang good too. What are the numbers? There's 32,000 pounds of towing capacity and 7,640 payload capacity. That feels like winning the lotto.
Acceleration
You might think a truck this big couldn't possibly keep up. But press down on the gas pedal, feel the power build, and then let the waves of torque sail you down the highway. The 2019 Ford F-350 can go zero to 60 in just 7.2 seconds. That's only 0.3 seconds slower than the Ford F-250, or 1.3 seconds slower than even the Ford F-150. That's pretty fast for moving this 7,000-pound behemoth.
Price
Perhaps the most important numbers of all, or at least your bottom line, is the price. But the price entirely depends on the trim level you choose and the packages and features you opt for. The F-350 starts at $34,320 for the base XL trim, which includes nifty standard features like locking tailgate, dual glove boxes and a driver information display. Step up to our recommended trim level, the XLT and you'll pay upward of $38,545, not much more than the XL. The F-350 XLT gives you cloth upholstery instead of vinyl and the basic version of the Sync infotainment system standard.
From there, it gets pretty luxurious, with the Lariat ($47,310), King Ranch ($56,585), Platinum ($63,000), and Limited ($81.415). If that sounds like a lot of options, steel yourself because there's also bed length and cabin size to consider. You can get just about any truck you want, provided the price is right for you.
Aluminum
Why is aluminum on this list of numbers? Because we can measure the pounds lost due to the new military-grade aluminum alloy Ford uses in its trucks and some SUVs now, the F-350 included. And that number is 350 pounds. By cutting the fat, Ford made a lighter, nimbler, more fuel-efficient truck that still tows and hauls as much as it always did. Losing a little weight is good, in this case even for a Super Duty.
That's the Ford F-350 by the numbers. Behind any math we may have thrown at you, there's a great big truck with a lot to offer. We could throw numbers at you all day, but the best way is to try one out and see what you think.
