2019 Ford Ranger: Trims and Color Options
All Rangers come with the standard 2.3L V6 Engine, and either the Super Cab (1 full door with a half door) with 6-foot box or the roomy Crew Cab (4 full doors) with 5-foot box, with 4x2 or 4x4 wheel drive. Want to tow a boat or toy hauler? The tow package is available with all trim levels, which when added, gives you the capability to tow up to 7,500lbs with the Ranger. The package includes Class IV Trailer Hitch Receiver and a 4-pin/7-pin Wiring Harness. Pretty standard pick-up truck fare. But that doesn't mean customization is impossible. With 3 trim levels, XL being the base, XLT the middle of the road, and Lariat the highest trim, there are tons of options and features to add (or take away) to make the truck truly yours.
XL
Even for the base, there are plenty of color options: Shadow Black, Oxford White, Lightning Blue, Ingot Silver, Magnetic (Gray), Saber (Orange). Perfect for those who like a basic truck or need a work vehicle that may be wrapped, and for those feeling more bold with their color choice (Lighting Blue may be right up your alley). The options for this base level truck are fairly straight forward and work well for those who favor the ?no-frills' approach.
The 100A package is standard and gives you Cloth Seats SYNC® and FordPass Connect? with 4G LTE Wi-Fi Hotspot, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB). 101A upgrade adds Cruise Control, Perimeter Anti-Theft Alarm, Power Glass Sideview Mirrors, Remote Key Fob with Tailgate Lock. If you like the shiny look of Chrome, the Chrome appearance package gives you a Chrome Front and Rear Bumper, making the base model a bit more premium. The STX Appearance Package is another option to kick-up the appearance of a base truck. Included in the package are 17" silver-painted aluminum wheels, Carbon Black bumpers, fog lamps, that snazzy STX decal on the box, and premium cloth 4-way Ebony Black seats.
If you are looking for safety, the available Ford Co-Pilot360 Package includes Auto-High Beam Headlamps, BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert and Trailer Tow Monitoring, Lane-Keeping System (Lane-Keeping Aid, Lane-Keeping Alert, and Driver Alert System). Also, 110V AC Power Outlet, Forward Sensing System, and Reverse Sensing System are included when Ford Co-Pilot360? is ordered. This package is definitely worth considering with all it brings to the table for the XL Ranger.
XLT
Much like the F-150, the XLT for the Ranger lets you really get into the customization and build the truck of your dreams. This trim allows you to pick and choose what key features you really need (or really want), which saves money by avoiding unnecessary upgrades. The XLT comes with the base XL colors as options, as well as the available Hot Pepper Red, for those folks who need a spicy color for their pickup.
XLT provides a selection of optional XL features, as standard. Some more basic ones like anti-theft alarm, remote keyless entry system, and cruise control. But there are certainly fun inclusions as well. An updated Grille in Carbon Black Mesh with Silver Surround, Manual Folding Side Mirrors, Power locking tailgate, body color wheel-lip moldings, BLIS® (Blind Spot Information System) with Cross-Traffic Alert, automatic high-beams, Color-coordinated carpet with carpeted floor mats, cruise control, Lane-Keeping System, Forward and Reverse Sensing System. Available Technology package upgrades what's already available on the XLT, adding Adaptive Cruise Control and built-in Navigation (of course only with the SYNC 3). You can add these features separately, but it saves serious cash by doing the combo package.
Available appearance packages also change a bit with the upgrade to XLT. The Chrome package is still an option, but with even more goodies to add to the pile, including 17-Inch Chrome-Like PVD Wheels, Chrome Door and Tailgate Handles, Chrome Exhaust Tip, Chrome Front and Rear Bumper, and Unique to XLT Chrome Grille. STX changes to the Sport Appearance package with XLT as well. Designers applied the dynamic color Magnetic to select areas of the Ranger exterior to create an enhanced sporty appearance. This package includes, 17-Inch Magnetic-painted Aluminum Wheels or optional18-Inch Machined Aluminum Wheels with Magnetic-painted Pockets, Black Grille with Magnetic Surround, Magnetic Front and Rear Bumpers, Magnetic Wheellip Moldings, and last but not least, that sharp looking "Sport" decal on the box.
A great option for those who love the dark gray look, as the Magnetic accents are everywhere. You can also upgrade the interior a bit more with the available leather-wrapped steering wheel and gear shifter.
Lariat
This trim level is the highest offered this model year and includes the most standard options available. The Lariat trim for the Ranger also brings the classy, pearlized White Platinum color to the choosing game, making the highest trim level feel just that more luxurious. You can also get it in any color the lower trim levels offer. The Lariat comes standard with heated, leather-trimmed seats, LED headlamps, Standard SYNC 3 8inch screen, and Intelligent Access with Push-Button Start. Upgrade to the 501A, and get the Technology Package (see the XLT section to get the details on that), Rain-Sensing Wipers, Remote Start, and Windshield Wiper De-icer.
The Chrome Appearance package gets another upgrade with the move up to the Lariat trim. Chrome Appearance Package includes many of the features of the XLT, like Chrome Bumpers, Chrome Door and Tailgate Handles, Chrome Exhaust Tip, but it also ups the ante with 18-Inch Chrome-Like PVD Wheels and a unique to this trim Chrome grille. The Sport Appearance Package stays very much the same as the XLT, but with the other luxuries in the Lariat, the upgrades make that much more of an impact.
With so many options to choose from, getting your perfect Ranger can be tough. We hope this guide helped to guide you through all the possibilities and narrow down your perfect truck. Have fun and enjoy your new Ranger!
