2020 Ford Fusion Hybrid
Do not confuse the Fusion Hybrid with the Fusion Plug-In Hybrid, which last year was called the Fusion Energi. Those are separate models. Here we’re talking about the one that collects and stores energy while you drive as opposed to having a battery that you plug in at home. Whatever you call it, there are rumors that the Ford Fusion is on its way out this year or next. So grab your jacket and get to a Ford dealership because this one isn’t going to stick around forever. In this guide, we share all the reasons why you want to get a Fusion Hybrid before it’s gone for good.
The Fusion Hybrid has been around since 2013, which is a long time for any hybrid vehicle. And while many competitors have hit the scene in the intervening years, the Fusion Hybrid continues to impress. The biggest successes are the Fusion Hybrid’s large cabin, spacious trunk and surprising handling dynamics. And, of course, you’re going to get great fuel economy in a hybrid.
Large Cabin
Long drives will be your friend in the 2020 Fusion Hybrid, not only because of the superior gas mileage, but also because of the roomy interior. You can really stretch your legs while getting the right blend of support and coziness in any of the Fusion’s five seats. The cabin is quiet, the ride is smooth, and the suspension feels just fine. A lot of people choose a costlier and more pollutant SUV over sedans, but with easy entry and exit, plenty of space, large windows giving you a nice view of the road, this sedan works just fine.
Spacious Trunk
Unlike the Fusion Plug-In Hybrid, the trunk did not have to be sacrificed for hybrid technology. The trunk-mounted battery pack sits low enough that it doesn’t obstruct the trunk space, leaving you with 12 cubic feet of storage, excellent for its class. In addition, folding rear seats and pass-through allow you to maximize your space when needed. Finally, you’ll find lots of convenient cubbies and pockets throughout the passenger space to make sure nothing is rolling around the cabin when you hit the gas or brake.
Superb Handling
The Fusion Hybrid benefits from sporty handling, so it’s a fun drive on a winding country road. There’s minimal body roll and plenty of stability, so you can really lean into curves, if that’s your thing. The Fusion Hybrid isn’t terribly fast, going from zero to 60 in nine seconds flat. But there’s still enough oomph there that, together with its superb handling, makes it something of a joy ride.
Go Green
This is the reason you bought a hybrid, and the Fusion Hybrid does not disappoint. Because of its hybrid technology, the Fusion Hybrid gets 43 city and 41 highway miles per gallon. That’s a tremendous advantage over the regular Fusion that gets 23 city and 34 highway mpg. And that’s really what it’s all about. You can get great fuel economy in a car that is spacious, comfortable, and fun to drive. What’s not to love?
