2020 Lincoln Aviator vs Infiniti QX60
The Lincoln Aviator is brand new for the 2020 model year. Ford and Lincoln fans have been eager to get a look at it since its unveiling. Well, seeing is believing. Because the 2020 Lincoln Aviator is here and rolling into your local LaFayette Ford dealership. Let’s see how the Aviator stacks up by comparing Lincoln’s latest with another luxury midsize SUV: the 2020 Lincoln QX60.
Infotainment: 2020 Lincoln Aviator
We don’t normally make infotainment a category all its own. But the Aviator’s infotainment system deserves some individual recognition. This system is easily one of the best, if not the best, in its class. We’re talking about the SYNC 3 infotainment system with 10.1-inch touch screen, four USB ports, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Wi-Fi hotspot, 10-speaker audio system, and satellite radio. And, yes, all of that comes standard. To top it off, there’s a 5.8-inch second-row touchscreen for audio and climate controls. Because why should the front seat have all the controls?
By comparison, the Infiniti QX60’s infotainment system doesn’t pass muster. It’s just average, so the InTouch infotainment system pales in comparison. There’s the standard 8-inch screen, eight USB ports, Bluetooth, satellite radio, HD Radio, and six-speaker stereo. Unfortunately, the physical controls, which are welcome, are awkwardly placed, which is not so welcome. And the navigation system has dated graphics that look like yesterday’s offerings.
Towing: 2020 Lincoln Aviator
If there’s a reason you’re thinking of buying a luxury SUV instead of a car, towing might be it. Sport utility vehicles can haul you, your crew, and a trailer too. But which of these two SUVs does it best? The 2020 Lincoln Aviator is slated to tow up to 6,700 pounds. That’s a decent number for this class. Meanwhile, the Infiniti QX60 only does a maximum of 5,000 pounds, which is a bit below average for the class. If you’re towing a horse trailer, a boat, or a heavy utility trailer, the Aviator will fit the job.
Engines: 2020 Lincoln Aviator
It’s not surprising that the 2020 Lincoln Aviator outperforms the Infiniti QX60 in towing when you look at engines. Basically, the Aviator’s engine is a raging bull. We’re talking about a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that puts out 400 horsepower. That’s plenty of power for everything outside of a Hollywood action movie. The hybrid version does even better with a 494-horsepower engine.
By comparison, the Infiniti QX60 is disappointing. While its 295-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 engine mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission is fine in its own right, it's quite a step down from what the Aviator is offering. The QX60’s 295-hp engine has nothing on the 400- or 494-hp engines available in the Aviator.
