Power & Performance
The 2022 Mustang Mach-E derives all of its power from a battery-powered motor. Rear-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive is optional, the latter of which lends itself to a sportier ride. Battery range and speed depend on which of the five trim models you select. The Mustang Mach-E GT Performance Edition is the fastest of the bunch, generating 480 horsepower and 634 pound-feet of torque. To spend more time on the road between charges, choose the California Route 1 model, which can travel up to 305 miles on a full battery charge.
Every 2022 Bronco Sport features four-wheel drive, because these compact crossovers were designed for off-road adventure. This model is technically a more capable version of the Ford Escape, and it features the same engine options. A turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine (181 hp, 190 lb-ft) is standard. If you wish, you can upgrade your ride with a turbo 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (250 hp, 277 lb-ft).
Interior Comfort
Of the pair, the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E is the more luxurious model. Designed to compete with swanky Teslas, Ford’s new EV crossover comes standard with vegan leather upholstery and a power-adjustable driver’s seat. Upscale options include a panoramic fixed-glass roof and driver-seat memory settings.
The 2022 Bronco Sport’s lower trim levels stick to the basics, like power accessories and cloth seating. If you spend a little more, however, you can enjoy options like seat heaters and genuine leather upholstery.
Technology
Both the 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E and Bronco Sport deliver an excellent range of high-tech safety gear. Standard features include frontal collision mitigation, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring. The Mustang Mach-E adds adaptive cruise control, which automatically adjusts your speed to suit traffic flow, to the list of standard features.
The 2022 Ford Mustang Mach-E includes the new Sync 4 infotainment system. It improves on the Sync 3 system (which you’ll find in the Bronco Sport) with a faster processor and a bigger, 12-inch touchscreen. Sync 4 also includes the new wireless versions of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. To use these smartphone features with the Bronco Sport’s Sync 3, you’ll need a USB cord.
