2022 Ford Transit vs Mercedes Sprinter

The 2022 Ford Transit’s base engine is a 3.5-liter V-6 that produces 275 horsepower or a turbocharged 3.5-liter V-6 that gets 310 hp. Both are connected to a 10-speed automatic transmission and can be outfitted with rear or all-wheel drive. Towing is estimated at an impressive 7,500 pounds and fuel economy at 24/28 mpg.

As for the 2022 Mercedes Sprinter, it offers three possible engines. The standard being a 2-liter 4-cylinder paired to a 9-speed automatic and only 188 horses. The second is a 2-liter turbodiesel V-6 and the third, a 3-liter both paired to a 7-speed automatic transmission. Only the last can be paired with four-wheel drive. Towing begins at 5,000 pounds but can also reach as high as the Transit at 7,500 pounds. Fuel economy is 21/30 mpg.

Inside the Transit is a completely noiseless cabin, far removed from the sounds of the road it's traveling. The interior is made up of sleek materials and can seat up to 15 passengers comfortably.

The Sprinter is also quiet inside with nice materials and lots of cargo space. There’s an available Swivel Seat package to configure the seats to allow easier access to other rows. The standard amount of seating is 12 but can be increased to 15.
