The Ford Explorer lineup saw few changes in 2024, but there will be more in store for the new model year. Among critics and everyday drivers, the Limited is a long standing favorite—while it’s single-turbo four-cylinder engine isn’t as powerful as the twin-turbocharged V-6 in higher trims, you probably won’t notice much.

Whether you use it for work or play, the Limited gets things done in style and with efficiently. It can tow a whopping 5,300 pounds when properly equipped, and its standard features—20-inch wheels, a heated and power-adjustable steering wheel, leather covered seats, a power-folding third row, a 12-speaker Bang & Olufsen stereo system, and upgraded driver assists—will make you feel you feel like you’re in a luxury vehicle.

The Explorer’s interior design isn’t ostentatious by any means—but the cabin is functional and relaxing—at least for passengers in the first two rows. The third row can get a little tight for taller passengers, but it’s not overly claustrophobic and you can get in and out fairly easily, thanks to a button-operated mechanism that moves the second row in an instant. Front seat space is the most abundant, however, and you can adjust the driver’s seat to your liking with little effort.

Cargo space is also ample with 18.2 cubic feet of volume behind the third row. When you put the third row seats down, that number jumps up to 47.9 cubic feet, and when you put both rows down, you have access to a whopping 87.8 cubic feet of space to haul whatever you need!
